Talent in the Family!!!!

While Megan in and I were in Haiti something very special happened for Jessica. Every year her middle school does a talent show. Any student that wants to perform can tryout for a spot. Each year Jessica has participated. She always sings a song.

I am soooooooooooo incredibly proud of her for even wanting to sing a solo! She has an amazing voice. No seriously, I know I am biased being her mom, but she really does have a good voice!

Well each year she debates on what song to sing. One thing we know for sure is she always picks a Christian song to sing. Her words, “I am going to take any opportunity I can to share Jesus with kids at my school!” And boy does she!

This year she chose “Enough” by Barlow Girl to sing. It suits her voice so well. I got to hear her sing it before I left for Haiti.

So, on Friday night I call Todd to see how everything went. He says hi and hands the phone to Jessica. Oh no, what’s wrong? Uh, well…my baby girl won the whole thing!!!! AND she received a $25 check too!!!!!
A whole lot of screaming and laughing and crying happened then! Darn it. Of course I would be out of town for such a big moment!

Todd got pictures but no video. Sorry. I had the video camera with me in Haiti.

Now here is the even more incredible thing about my girl. She asked Todd if she could please give the $25 to our music director (from Haiti) to go towards getting his mom here. They have been working on getting a visa for her to come live here with them.

Are you kidding me??????? Of course that is ok! WOW! She gets it. What a blessing Jessica is to us and those around her! I can not wait to see what God has in store for her in the future.

Bravo Jessica for winning the talent show! I love you!
Hugs, Kristina
