Just got word...we are out of IBESR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
That's the good news.
The bad news is we need to fly to Haiti. Haiti has added another step in the process. BOTH adoptive parents have to go "in person" to Haiti to sign a paper before a judge to prove they really do want to adopt this child!
WHAT???? Are you*%#$@)+> kidding me? After all that we have been thru? Do they not know what it costs to get there? It's not just plane tickets. It's the cost of a hotel, time off work without pay, finding someone to watch all our kids, the fees that a trip to Haiti costs for the orphanage, etc, etc, etc.....
Bottom line it would cost @$1,000 a piece to go and that does not cover the paycheck lost.
****SIGH*******
God, I seriously hope you have something up your sleeve. We could really use it right about now!
So, we celebrate being out of IBESR (Haiti social services), but are at loss as to what to do about going to sign the paper. Todd does not get vacation time until Feb and we get our tax return money @ that time too.
Please pray.
Thanks!
Hugs, KRistina

Congrats!!!!!
I know it is a finacial hardship to go to Haiti but it is the most wonderful thing. We also had to go recently (beginning of Oct). It was priceless just being able to hold and love our girl. It means a little less under the tree this christmas but those memories warm us as we go through this never ending process.

Congrats on being out of IBESR!!! That is so awesome!!! I know it's hard to celebrate it given the new circumstances, but just remember, God is much bigger than Haiti's ever changing governmental system & He has it all worked out!
Praying my friend!!!
Congratulations on such a quick IBESR exit!! That was fast!
I keep thinking they'll ditch that whole ridiculous step, but if not, the LORD will provide!
Celebrate tonight! You're out of the BLACK HOLE!
Yes Kathy I know going together to Haiti is wonderful. My husband and I went together last September and spent a whole week with our two children.
Now is NOT a good time to be going. It would jeopardize my husbands job and out finances. So our adoption will come to a halt til we can go.
It is so unfair that after waiting all this time the hold up will be us and not the Haitian system.
Thank you for your prayers everyone. Our God is bigger than all this and I know somehow things will work out!
Kristina that's WONDERFUL news!! I'm so excited you're posting good news this time because I miss hearing your story!! Just remember God is always providing when we think it's impossible He makes it possible!!
Yeah! Congrats, Peeps!
Praying God provides the means for your trip, too!
Love you!
Very excited about this news. Always praying for Ellie's process! Praying God will reveal his plan this week for the travel.
I'm sorry that your great news came alongside some bad news for your finances. I know God is working in your situation or you would not have been called to adopt again. Will definitely be praying for you!
I am caught in that step too and I have been out of ibesr for 18 mo!! Have to go down to court because we got stuck so long in second legal and then it went into effect. Aughhhhhhh
