After work I went to the store and bought a cookie cake for Ellie. Silly I know. But, I'll be darned if distance is gonna prevent me from celebrating the day my baby girl was born!
I ache for her and miss her so much.
I called Bethany, my niece who is in Haiti right now, to talk to Ellie. i got wish her a happy birthday. Bethany said her whole face lit when she was on the phone with me. I told her I loved her, Jonas said hi and Happy Birthday to her and Todd did too. She didn't say much but Bethany said they took a picture of her BIG grin while she was on the phone.
I also got to tell her that I will see her in April. Todd and I agreed that I would go soon after he went to pick up Jonas to bring him home. We feel this is vitally important for her to believe what Todd told her when he had to tell her she couldn't go home yet. He told her we still loved her and would still come to visit and one day she would come home too. We want her to not just hear this but know this.

We celebrated Anchise's birthday last July and will probably do so again this year. I think it's a special day to remember the day.
