I keep pulling my cell phone out hoping I missed a call from Gretchen. I rushed home from work thinking I might have an email...NOPE!
But I have not given up yet.
God keeps sending me messages thru an online encouragement service I signed up for. Here are the messages I got:

"Hope deferred makes the heart sick, but a dream fulfilled is a tree of life.
~ Proverbs 13:12, NLT
The last one has a HUGE meaning to our family. In the past few months God has been sending reoccurring messages of "trees" to us. Todd and I talked a lot about the meaning of these images and messages and trees being so prominent in our lives right now. We have been praying and we feel God is showing us our family is represented by the trees. It has many branches and no two branches are identical. But each limb grows because it is attached to the trunk (Todd and I), and the trunk, as we all know, has to be "rooted"( God's word) to receive nourishment.
But also to grow where we are planted. And that we have a tree full of branches. To rest in Gods love where the size of our tree is concerned and when those branches will grow.
And last but not least, our future is rooted in images of trees. Not sure what that is all about yet, but God will show us in his time.
Well Todd gave me a necklace that has a circle and cut out in the middle is a tree. On the outside circle it says, "Bountiful Love...One Family"We found the same necklaces in a smaller version. So, for Christmas we bought each of the girls one. And yes, Ellie will have one waiting for her when she gets home too! Our family necklace, per say.
So as you can see, trees mean a lot to us. And on Saturday God reminded me that HE WILL fulfill my dreams of my family! Haitian ones and all.
So I wait...for news... from Haiti! As soon as I know something you will know.
Hugs, Kristina

What a beautiful necklace! Hope you hear something soon!
What awesome encouragement Kristina!!! Thank you for sharing!!! I'm still praying & can't wait to see Jonas walk off a plane...soon! :o)
Kristina, I love the necklace!! I'm standing wiht you to pray Jonas home for the holidays!
Praying with you!!! You know... another cool thing about trees is how most of them will successfully recieve a branch from a total different type of tree... you can graft it in and the tree will support it and nourish it. What a cool vision of adoption!! It makes a tree so much more fun to have grafted branches that become it's very own! And with apple trees... it often makes the FRUIT even better when a tree is grafted!!!!
Hope,
I had no idea trees could do this!!!! How cool is that????Thank you for sharing this with me!
Kristina,
I know this must be very hard. I am praying for you, Jonas, and Ellie.
Even though, he isn't home for Christmas, at least he's with Ellie, who as far as we know needs him right now, through this holiday.
Hang in there, it won't be long!
Love Ya
