We got a message about Jonas' files today.

"Hi Kristina and Todd,
I just talked to Jean Nathan and he said that he can pick up the passport tomorrow. If they give it to him in the morning (before 12) he will be able to submit it to DHS tomorrow as well for final approval.
He has given all the documents to the translator already to be translated back into English. (Immigration in Haiti is working off copies) The translator is supposed to deliver them tomorrow morning.
So, still lots to come together. I reminded Jean Nathan that we are all really praying the Jonas can go home before Christmas.
On Monday Jonas should go to his DHS doctors appointment. We don't need the reports to get final approval, but do need it for the visa appointment.
I don't know how final approvals are going to go this time of year, let alone visa appointments, but we are going to try our best. Praying!
Talk to you soon, Gretchen"

The past few days have been...well let's just say a bit stressing. We kept hoping we would hear something, trying NOT to loose hope that Jonas could be home for Christmas. Last night we again shared with our choir to please keep praying that we were so close! I said," Our God created the universe and all that is within it in 6 days. So getting this finalized in time for him to come home for Christmas is small compared to that!"
We are so so so so so very close. Could I please ask one more thing of all you out there? Will you PLEASE pray that we can get DHS final approval and visa by next Friday. Pray that the director of DHS will be in a VERY GOOD Christmas spirit and sign off on his file in one day. And that the visa office will feel compelled to give one last Christmas gift and grant us an appointment and visa before their office closes. We want Jonas' file to find favor in the eyes of whomever holds i and makes decisions. Then, PRAISE God for all of it.
Imagine how sweet a sound all of our prayers and praising will sound to the Lord? Let's unleash his power thru our prayers and get Jonas home!
Thank you from the bottom of my heart!
Hugs, Kristina

Oh my goodness, you are so very close! I do pray that it all happens before Christmas...
however, IF it doesn't, I believe I'd leave up all the decorations anyway, because it's still right around the corner!!!
