Skype is a wonderful thing! It is an online service that allows you to make video phone calls over the internet. So this means I got to talk to the kids today. I wasn't sure at first if I would be able to because they didn't have a connection in Haiti. Then all of a sudden they came online.
It was so beautiful to see their faces and hear their voices!!!!!!! It has been over a year since Todd or I have seen them!!!!
I long to hold them, kiss them, smell them, touch them, just BE with them! But for now Skype is helping ease that pain. Just look at those faces! How can you not love them?We have to redo our homestudy. Ugh!!!! I will try to explain it so you can understand. Last year when God revealed that Ellie was to be our daughter we were proactive and had an addendum done to our Homestudy. This basically extends the expiration by a year. Well that year is up tomorrow.
So you say what is the big deal? $450. Then i have to send it to the Secretary of State of Indiana for a authentification seal. Then I have to pay for it to be translated into French, then send it to the Haitian consulate in Chicago to have an official stamp placed on it making it legal and binding in Haiti. They charge $50 a stamp and there will be 3 of them. Once we have the updated paperwork we can get our 171h approvl extended and then we can file in Haiti.
So the money I had saved up for a plane ticket to go to Haiti to file Ellie's paperwork is now being used to update the paperwork. Talk about frustrating!
I keep telling myself that God is bigger than all of this. I just so long to go to Haiti! And I know God understands my desire to go. I just keep praising God for all I do have. I hope all of you are well. Know that I thank God for all of you!
Hugs, Kristina

LOVE the pics and that you got to talk to your sweet kids!
This road has been so long and hard for you. I'm sorry that you have to redo the homestudy. What a pain. I'll be praying that God finds another way to pay for you to go visit- I know how much you miss them.
I feel like I might be getting to a place where I can keep up a little better. I so hope to get to chat with you soon!
Your perspective and eager growth are always so refreshing and encouraging. Thanks for being real!
Love you! Laura
How exciting that you got to see your sweeties! I am sorry about the money having to be used to renew the homestudy. But I am excited to read over your past entries and see how God truly is moving in your life!
I will continue to pray for you as you wait upon Him and His perfect plans for your family! Thank you for living a life of obedience to our Lord!
Blessings,
Kimberly
Your kids look so great Kristina! I'm so glad your call happened :-) That stinks about the homestudy, but like you say, you just have to trust that God's will is being done in all of this! I pray it all goes very very quickly!
