For those of you who read Todd's blog have already read this. But I wanted those who read mine to be able to hear about it as well.
While Todd was in Haiti he was blessed to have met You You's brother, Elias. Elias had come to visit his sister before they both flew home for Christmas. Todd really enjoyed getting to know Elias and hopes their paths will cross again someday.
Anyways, Elias sent this email to Todd about Jonas. And let's just say if I ever doubted that Jonas may not know who we were after we left, dissolved. I also thought that his picture page was long gone. NOT! Yeah! God is good!
And it just so happens that Michelle got these two pictures of Jonas after Todd left. Thanks Michelle.
Too cute. It just makes you want to go AHHHH!!!

Now for Elias's email to Todd:
Todd,
I was reading your wife's blog and I remembered this story. I don't think I've ever told it to you:
I believe it was after you left that we started decorating forChristmas. There were a few boxes of green and red plastic balls sitting on top of the piano and earlier in the day some of the kids(Jonas included) had tried to climb up and grab them and play with them. They were told the balls were not for playing with.
Later on I was downstairs again and Jonas was crying and pointing toward the boxes of balls on top of the piano and I told him, "No, Jonas, you can't have those." But...well first of all he didn't understand me:)...but he insisted and went over there himself and climbed up. I was about to pull him down and tell him "No" again when I realized he wasn't headed for the balls. On top of the boxes of balls was the laminated sheet of pictures of your family. That's what he was after. Crying, he picked it up and brought it over to me to show me. I, of course, changed my attitude from one of "about to discipline" to "in awe of the understanding this kid has about who his family will soon be" and how he missed you and treasured this, now bent and worn, picture of his family whom he will soon be with.
What a great kid.
Thought you might want to hear that.
Elias

Hugs, Kristina
