So on this momentous occasion of 8-8-08 I am asking for a blessing.

September 25th-30th Todd will be in Haiti. He is going to officially file Ellie's paperwork with the local DHS (Department of Homeland Security) office. They require one of the adopting parents to file it in person in Haiti. So Todd is going to do this.
When trying to decide who would go it was overwhelming that it should be Todd. He hasn't been since December 06! He has never met Ellie in person! But the true deciding factor was when I skyped with the orphanage and got to talk to Jonas and Ellie. Todd was driving to Cincinnati to pick up Jessica who had just spent a week with her aunt and uncle. When Jonas came into view his face dropped when he saw Todd wasn't there to see and talk to. Children don't know to hide their feelings. And it was in that moment that everything came into super focus for me. Jonas NEEDED Todd. It wasn't about what I wanted or Todd wanted, but what Jonas needed. Todd is going.
And believe it or not I am so excited. I wish I could be a fly on the wall to see Jonas' reaction when his Papa Todd is there in the flesh. (big grin) Shhh it is a secret.
So the blessing I mentioned. For several weeks now Todd and I have been praying and lifting up a request to God. PLEASE let Jonas come home with Todd in September. Is it possible you ask? Well, I don't tell God how big my problems are, I tell my problems how big my GOD is! YES, it IS possible!
We should be in MOI any day now. Hopefully today. Our friends got in and out in 1 month. That would make it the beginning of September. That gives it 4 weeks for final approval and visa. In Haiti this would be cutting it really close. We are calling upon the favor of God to make this a reality. Otherwise we would have to go back within a few short days/weeks to pick him up. Which either way of course we would.
Would that not be so awesome?
Would you mind joining us in our prayers?
Hugs, Kristina

Praying:)
I will join you in this prayer!
I must admit, I have been praying I will need to buy a ticket to go on that very same trip and pick up our boys ever since I found out we were out of Parquet... For the kid's sake of course, and also because I would like to meet some of the people who will be on that trip.
I thought of posting a prayer request about it several times, but I always wimped out thinking I was asking too much. Your faith to put your request out there without fear has humbled and inspired me.
So, I am just going to go totally nuts and pray towards this date for you guys, us, Kathy, and Lara! Yup, all four families- a God-style grand slam, and I don't care who thinks I'm crazy! You never know what He will do...
God can do all things!!! Sounds like He might be setting things up!!! We will agree with you in prayer!!!
Praying with you my friend!!!
I am standing with you in prayer Kristina! I think we should all be praying extravangant prayers for one another - after all we serve an extravagant God!
Joining you in prayer! :)
I hope this is "just another ordinary miracle" God has planned for your life. May He make it so!
oh you know i have been and i will continue to do so!!
I agree with Cara... let's pray all of those kids home!! We are in the same place... yes, Isaiah lives with us BUT if something were to happen and we had to leave Haiti, we could NOT take him with us. We need to get his adoption done as well.
I believe it is time for Jonah to be home with his family. PRAYING!!!!
Praying for you to all be reunited during this trip!! God CAN and WILL make it happen! I have faith!!
HUGS
Kristina, that is a lot to hope for. But we're not just hoping, we're praying. I have always believed that prayer is the most powerful thing a human can do.
So, I will join you in this prayer.
