A Call to Prayer!

I really need your help right now. Would you join me in prayer for my children?

ELLIE:

I got an email on Friday telling me Ellie was one of 5 children who were running a fever. I found out today she was bad enough that You You took her and another little girl (Sara) to the hospital. They both have phenomena. Sara's was so bad she had to stay at the hospital. Ellie's wasn't as bad, but come on....she is in a third world country!!!!!!!!!!!

The amazing thing is You You found an American doctor who is working in the hospital in Haiti. So she took the girls there. You can access her bog here "DR JEN". She mentions Sara and Ellie in her Friday blog entry. I shake my head in utter amazment that God knew our little girl would be sick and already had a doctor in place for her care. And not just any doctor, but an American one! He knew we mommies would be fretting because we weren't there, and he provided a doctor that would calm our fears. Thank you Lord!!!!

Would you please pray for her and that God would heal her little body? And pray for me. I am going stir crazy as her momma! I wish so much I could be there with her. I know I can't heal her, but I could hold her and kiss her and sing to her. Things a mommy does. But, I know that God loves her even more than I do, and she rests in his hands. And that I can have peace in.

Also pray for You You(director of the O). Imagine having 5 really sick kids to check on all day along with 30+ more healthy ones. Then you have the needs of the nannies and all the daily things that need to be tended to run the O. This is one amazing young woman who is daily giving of herself to care for all our children. Thank you doesn't seem enough You You, but I am grateful you are there being a mom to my children!

I do know Ellie is doing better and a bit stubborn from what I hear...boy is she a Burnett! :)

JONAS:

Jonas is out of IBESR and now in Parquet. For those of you who don't know the process, Parquet is basically the equal to a judge/court. This is the step where Jonas will be made legally ours. When he comes out of Parquet we will have an adoption decree. After that it's applying for a passport. (very simple explaination)

What I would love prayer for is this: In this natural world the rest of the process could take more than 6 months...still. But we are asking people to join us in prayer asking God to bring Jonas home before Christmas. He is more than able to accomplish this. We are praying and believing this. I have been getting his room ready in anticipation of God answering our prayer. Todd and I just feel if we all join in agreement, that there is strength and power in that. There are several families who are in the same spot and would love to have their children home as well. (And some of them have been waiting longer than us.)

Thank you so very much for all that you do for our family. We know this adoption wouldn't be possible without the love and support of our friends and family! The waiting and not being able to see them when we want is heart wrenching at times, but your love and prayers really do help. So thank you!

Hugs, Kristina

Whats that thing you do when you are pregnant, and right before you deliver, you go around getting things ready? Is it nesting? I think this is what you are doing! Your being told its time. Of Course I will be Praying!!!! That boy needs to be here before thanks giving, he likes to eat, and what a wonderful way to start american life!!!! Any how, I am praying and will continue to pray not only for Jonas, but the other families who are around the same spot you are. Happy to know that Ellie is doing much better. If you need anything, let me know.

Thank you Sarah. It's been 7 years since I was pregnant last, so I had forgotten about the whole nesting thing! Too funny!

I remember when I was pregnant with Jessica Todd came home one day to find that I had rearranged the whole basement. I was 9 months pregnant. He was VERY upset with me!

LOL All the things you remember.

Kristina, we are praying all the babies become well very soon ~ especially your little Ellie! God already had a miraculous plan in place, as He knew He would send Dr. Jen in Haiti for our children and the other children of Haiti. Our medical mission couldn’t come soon enough so we are able to check everyone’s children!

Blessings!
Colleen

Having a sick child is never fun - my little one is dealing with a cold right now. No big deal, but it reminded me of how I would feel if I couldn't be there for her. I know your heart is heavy and soon, very soon, you will be able to care for their every need - in person!

Hi! I'm so sorry that I've been MIA. I really have been praying for you and reading, I've just not gotten around to commenting. How is Ellie?

Your progress is good! It's very encouraging. The rest of the process seems to actually be working now! I so hope and pray that all our sweet kids will be home before Christmas!

Blessings! Laura
