UPDATE

I had a WONDERFUL birthday!

My day started with Jessica giving me a gift. Usually the girls just make me something or give me one of their toys. So I was shocked to get a Harry Potter wand writing pen. She had spent her own money to buy it for me!!!! I LOVE having kids. they give you such sweet surprises when you least expect it.

Then I received a VERY unexpected phone call!

Back in grade school there was a family here in Evansville for a couple of years from Venezuela. I had a HUGE crush on the son, Oscar. He was my first crush/love. When his family left I never heard from him again.

Fast forward, the girls and I watched a family friendly film titled, "The Friendship Field". It is a really neat story about a friendship between a girl and a boy named Oscar. They were separated and the girl always wondered about what happened to her friend Oscar. The girls started talking after the movie and asked me if I ever had that happen. I said yes, I had my own Oscar story. Of course being little girls and romantic in nature, they were awed at my story and that somewhere out there I had an Oscar.

Well I have been in the midst of planning my 20 year high school reunion (this Saturday). I joined classmates.com to try and find our class mates. Imagine my surprise when I found my Oscar!!!!! He and I have been emailing back and forth for awhile now.

HE called me yesterday morning to wish me a happy birthday. It was great to talk to him! My girls are very excited that I found my Oscar! Thanks Oscar for the call.

Then Cathy and I took the kids to Todd and Troy's parents house to swim. So I spent all day floating in the pool. Which considering how hot, humid and muggy Indiana can be, the pool felt like a piece of heaven!

I came home and Todd was making me his homemade chicken Alfredo!!!! Yummy!!!! It was fantastic! Homemade rolls and all. What a guy!

Then I took a long hot shower and we all sat and watched "So You Think You Can Dance" as a family. Good snuggle time.

Todd totally surprised me with an original photographic gift. He took all the pictures including the sunset tree. He put it together in photo shop and had a print made and framed it for me.

So as you can see I had a really nice day.

I will be computer silent for the next few days. I am a HUGE Harry Potter fan and the final book comes out at midnight Sat morning. I will be attending a Harry Potter party at a local bookstore and will start reading the last book as soon as I get it till I am done. Hopefully by 6am on Saturday. Then I will get a few hours sleep and have to get up and go decorate the room for my class reunion. Then maybe get a few more hours sleep before the reunion starts.

I am going computer silent because I don't want anything to ruin it for me and a rumor of a leak is already out there. With the computer age being what it is I am going media free till I get done reading the book!

So everyone have a great weekend!
Hugs, Kristina

Can I borrow your book when you are done with it? If I don't already have a copy by then?

It really stinks that Hogwarts catches on fire and burns the the ground killing everyone other than Crabb, Goyle and Pansy Parkinson.

Glad you were able to finish it so quickly Kristina - nevermind about borrowing it though, we were able to find a copy while finishing up our vacation trip. I'm about a quarter of the way through and Jenny is almost finished/will finish this evening most likely. I really could not believe it when... just kidding.
