Happy Birthday Baby!

Ok, this is a day late. But I still wanted to do a post about Megan.

Saturday was Megan's 9th birthday. And for those of you who don't know her, she is my middle child. Of course not for long!

I remember very vividly 9 years ago her making her grand entrance. She was the easiest, happiest pregnancy I had. My labor and delivery with her was the shortest. She came into this word a beam of sunshine! I was so excited that God had given me another chance of having a baby. (Three months before I got pregnant with Megan I had a pretty bad miscarriage.)

She has always been my light. She is just soooooo laid back. She smiles when she wakes up, she smiles before she goes to bed. I stand in awe of her at times. She lets things go so easily, or rather they just don't stick on her. She experiences the world around her thru texture. It is utterly fascinating to watch her! You should see her in a fabric store...you'd think she was in a candy store instead. She loves to see all the colors and touch all the different fabrics.

She is the child who mixes all kinds of prints and styles of clothes and it works for her!!!!
And her giggle is to die for! The sound of it just makes your heart smile! Not to mention put a smile on your face in spite of yourself! She is mischievous and like a little pixie. She is also soooooo creative! I don't think she has even begun to show her creativity yet. She just experiences life in such a different way than the rest of us.

But I have to be careful too. Because she is so laid back I have to make sure I see her and hear her heart. She doesn't make a lot of fuss, unlike her little sister. So I really have to pause and take note at times.

I look at her and I ask where has all the time gone?I remember the little baby girl who sucked her fingers and would look up at me with the biggest brown eyes. My eyes. She is the only one who got my brown eyes. I used to think brown eyes were boring. Then, I looked into her eyes and fell in love and realized it's not the color but the soul behind them that makes them beautiful. My Megan is beautiful!

Her birthday was planned haphazardly this year. My mind has been everywhere but at home lately. Thursday night she came to me with tears in her eyes asking what we were going to do for her birthday. I felt about 2 inches tall. So I started making calls. And on Saturday we had a "Pirates of The Caribbean" party. She was so cute, she pulled out her Halloween costume and dressed as a pirate for her party. But of course, what else would you do at a pirate party? Everyone was gracious and came even though they got a last minute call to invite them. And after all was said and done she was one happy girl!

I look forward to watching her grow into an amazing young lady. I have no doubt that it will be full of color and texture and a pure beam of light. And I pray that I will not do anything to mess up this precious gift that God has given to me!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY BABY!!!
Hugs, Mom

Kristina - your posts are making me cry on a regular basis! You describe your children so beautifully and with such love and devotion. I don't think you have anything to worry about as far as messing things up goes!

Happy birthday to your sweet girl!

I know I missed your birthday and I am still working on Megan's gift, so encourage her patience. As a matter of fact this may be a huge test of her patience becuase I was thinking I will be afraid to ship this so I may bring it with me in Oct. for Michael's wedding. But it will be worth the wait! I hope you both know that even though you have nothing to hold from me on your birthday that I fondly thought of you on your special day! My deepest love to you both wonderful gals!!XOXOXOXOXO
