I heard from Todd last night so I wanted to give you all a quick update.
Yesterday was the big day where Todd went to DHS to officially file our I600 and "Orphanes First" petition. He said it was a LOOOONG day. Just because you have an 11:30 am appointment, doesn't mean that's when you are seen. It litterally can take all day.
AND God really is awesome because they had complications with the paperwork. Evidently the original paperwork was at the lawyers office and DHS would not see them without it. But I had an unexplainable urge to send extra forms with Todd to cover all case scenarios. (Of course I know it was the Holy Spirit urging)So, because Todd had the, presigned by me, forms with a power of attorney to sign my name to anything, our appointment got completed. God is good.
Unfortunatly, Troy's did not go good. He didn't have any extra forms. So he and Manthania had to go back today. He was really upset. I would be too! To have to spend two whole days at DHS waiting! And this is his last day to be with Manthania. I know they were getting up extra early to get there first thing this morning. SO I have been in a constant state of prayer for him and the appointment.
Jonas's birthmother had to go with Todd and Jonas to the apppointment. They did her parent interview. It's where they make sure she hasn't been paid to give her child to us. And to make sure she understands what she is doing. Todd said she held Jonas in the truck on the way there. Jonas fell asleep. Then when they got to the DHS office they took turns holding him while they waited for the appointment. He said she was WONDERFUL! I must admit I'm a bit envious that I didn't get as much time with her as he has had. But I know she was thrilled that Jonas finally had a PaPa! And how cool is it that she got to see the two of them interact together? He said once they got back to the "O" she just kept telling him thank you and hugging him and kissing him. He said thank you in return. the "O" says she is one of the best parents they have ever had. I believe it. And I thank GOD for eing so good to us!
I'll post again once Todd is home and I can get way more details and awesome pictures to post. Mind you as of last night he had taken over 800 pictures! Surely I can find some good ones in the bunch! LOL
Hugs, Kristina

I am so glad that he had those special moments with his mom. Just think of the things both of you will be able to share with him as he gets older. She is an amazing woman and I know she is so excited that your family is going to take care of her little boy.
The appointment went great today. Actually we left at 9:15 and was back by 11:30 or so. Not bad and all is well. They accepted the papers we took today although they were only copies. Nathan is taking the originals on Monday just to be safe.
Praise God! I prayed all day for the favor of God to be on all of you!
Thanks Michelle for the update!
