I just got word that our first appointment in Haiti is scheduled for next week!!!!!
Our DHS (Department of Homeland Security) appointment is set for November 22nd at 11 am. This appointment is where our government will decide if Jonas is truly an orphan by US standards. His birthmother will be required to show up as well.
Please pray that all will go well. And pray for Jonas's mother. I can't imagine this will be easy for her. Also be praying that they won't require any DNA testing. It is $600 per person if they do. And we would have to pay for Jonas and his mom to be tested.
I'll let you know as soon as I hear how his appointment went.
